There are a lot of smaller cameras that look better than the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55B (some cameras even from Sony). But most of them are more expensive and the image quality might not be satisfying.
About the photos, you have to know that you cannot delete a picture as soon as you've taken it, like on other devices. Pictures can be deleted only after you have downloaded them on your PC – but this will keep you away from accidentally deleting anything.
The good part is that the Cyber-Shot has a large bright screen of 2.5 inch, which will help you view the photos in very good conditions. The LCD display offers a good visibility even in low light conditions (because it automatically increases the color intensity).
If you want to take photos of a person, the image quality is quite good and the skin looks natural (if the picture is taken outside, it will be even better).
