One of the things you'll find on almost every cell phone model is a digital camera. The included camera makes it easy to share funny, quick photos of family vacations and memorable moments. While cell phone cameras aren't necessarily the best in terms of the quality of the photos, they are getting better-some have up to three megapixels. That means that some smartphones can take photos almost as good as a regular digital point-and-shoot camera.
As a photographer or hobbyist, you may want to invest in the best mobile phone for you. This means it will probably include a nicer camera. You can judge this based on how many megapixels the camera has and whether it includes a flash on the phone or not. Otherwise, you will really need to depend on the available lighting when taking a picture, which greatly affects the picture quality, especially on a camera phone. Low light is a very common weakness when taking photos using your phone.
If you want to get good shots using your phone's camera, remember to follow basic photo instincts and rules. You should always face away from the light source while your subject faces the light source. It is also important, just as with your regular digital camera, to keep the lens clean at all times.
Digital zoom on camera phones tends to blur images and make the picture look fuzzy, so you should try to avoid it if possible. Simply walk closer to your subject to get a better picture instead of zooming. Also, when possible, it is usually best to avoid your camera phone's flash, even though newer smartphones have nice new LED flashes.
The saying goes that the best camera is the one you have with you. Keep that in mind at moments when you have your phone and don't have time to grab your DSLR or point-and-shoot model.
