Canon Plans to Increase SLR Camera Products, Will Invest 10 Billion Yen in Taiwan

In a bid to increase its SLR camera production, Canon plans to expand its existing factory in Taiwan and build a new one. Canon is one of the leading companies when it comes to SLR camera production, and this step will ensure that Canon stays the number one SLR camera manufacturer.
Canon expects to sell 7 million SLR camera units this year, up from 5.9 million SLR camera units in 2010, and the company will invest 10 billion yen (124 million dollars) to meet the growing SLR camera demand. Canon is the leading camera maker with 44.5% market share, and a company official said that while sales of compact camera models increased by 13% during the last year, SLR camera sales increased by a whopping 30%.
